SAILOR in Sachsen-Anhalt or  "time doesn't matter" - A concert review by Susi Akinci:

But let's start at the beginning. Hilde and I travelled to Landsberg on Saturday morning to finally hear our favourite band again, and also we were very curious to see Nick.
After a refreshing shower we met at the hotel bar to have a refreshing beer, when SAILOR suddenly arrived. To our surprise we had happened to book the same hotel in which SAILOR and some of the other bands stayed. Henry introduced us to Nick and we immediately liked him a lot. Then he told us that SAILOR's performance was only planned to start at 12.30 am (!!!). I thought that couldn't be true, as admittance was planned for 6.30 pm! But as we wanted to be at the very front in any case, we had to go to the open air stage and get good places.
When we got there, the doors had already opened and there was a little queue. Then there was a security check of peoples' handbags, and as some women had brought handbags in the size of suitcases this took a rather long time. Luckily I didn't bring a bag, so I wasn't searched and we could quickly get the last two places in front of the stage.
The show was started by the band Beat Club, who spread a good mood in the audience, followed by Middle Of The Road, who really got the audience going. Then there was an almost endless waiting time due to changes, sound-problems and lord knows what else until The Rattles had their performance. The plan was that each band was to play for half an hour, but it was already clear that this couldn't work. Afterwards it was time for Christie, followed by Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich. During this time the Nickelodeon was already prepared and then - finally - time to get the stage ready for SAILOR. And it tool a long long time... Please don't forget: We had been standing on the same spot since 6.30 pm and by now it was 12.45 am! But the audience was still enthusiastic and patiently waited for SAILOR. Even those people who didn't know SAILOR at all. Yes it's hard to believe, but amazingly there are people of this kind, something that I can't understand at all!
Then at 12.50 am it was finally time for them, the host said good morning to the audience and announced SAILOR. The mood immediately reached its climax and people were completely thrilled. SAILOR enthused everybody, people sang and danced and almost forgot that it was so early or late already. We absolutely loved Nick. I like his voice very much, and he does a super job on stage. I think that he fits into the band very well and already is a "real SAILOR". It's obvious that he truly enjoys it. SAILOR entertained their audience for an entire hour and didn't show any signs of tiredness regarding themselves or the audience. Everybody was thrilled and happy. Many people who hadn't known SAILOR before said that they were new fans now.
At 1.55 am the show was over and I was looking forward to go back to my bed. On the next morning at breakfast we had a short opportunity to tell Nick how much we'd enjoyed the show and him as well. He told us that there wasn't even a soundcheck before the show, but let's be honest: Professionals like SAILOR handle something like this without any problems, right?
In any case we had a lot of fun in this night once again and therefore we say: Thanks Grant, Phil, Henry and Nick!
